What you can expect
Leisure activities
The many small forest lakes and canals that this area offers are usually difficult to reach by land. With a houseboat, you won't miss any of the many beautiful bathing spots. No matter where you consider stopping, the water quality is sure to delight.
There are many waters in north-eastern Germany that are suitable for fishing. The same applies to the Mecklenburgische and Brandenburgische Kleinseenplatte. Both in the canals and in the more hidden lakes, the usual suspects such as perch, pike and zander can be outwitted. As the fishing pressure is not so high in these waters, the chances of catching fish are correspondingly good.
The most beautiful river cycle path in Germany runs along the Havel. It is therefore possible to explore the area both from the water and by bike. Unspoiled nature, fascinating wildlife and dreamy views are not uncommon. Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern have always been very popular with cyclists, so why not combine it with boating?
