Via Mirow to Rheinsberg
Description
Via Rechlin and the Kleine Müritz you drive into the land of 1000 lakes. The first of four locks awaits you in Mirow on your journey to Rheinsberg. In Mirow, there are several jetties near the castle island and a visit to the castle island with the 3 Queens’ Palace, St. John’s Church and Love Island is one of the highlights along the tour.
After Mirow, the canal meanders through dense forest until the waterway opens up after about two kilometers and the Zotzensee begins.
Below the Diemitz and Canow locks, the Wolfsbruch lock canal leads you into the Rheinsberg waters. On the Rheinsberg lakes, houseboats and their crews will find many anchorages and small bays that invite you to swim and relax. Rheinsberg Castle is located on the eastern shore of Lake Grienerick, where you can take fantastic photos from the water by houseboat. The castle houses museums, a music academy and a castle theater, so it might be worth taking a look at the program during your houseboat vacation.
(Cruise also possible from Marina Zehdenick, then correspondingly longer)
