The longest river in the Czech Republic is the Vltava. It originates from the confluence of the Warm Vltava and Cold Vltava rivers on the country’s southern border. After 430 kilometers, it flows into the Elbe. Along its banks, you are surrounded by nature, castles and history, wine and beer, as well as good food.

While our neighboring country has been popular with beer tourists for years, water tourism is still in its infancy – although you don’t have the water in your glass, but under your keel. Here again we have an area for explorers!

Prague – the beer capital

A boat trip to the capital city of Prague is certainly a highlight, with its promenades along the riverbank, restaurants by the water and the diverse cultural life of a major city. With its picturesque beauty and its history, which is told in interesting museums, it attracts both tourists and locals. Let yourself be enchanted by the charm of the city and its people. Prague is also known worldwide for its beer culture, there are many small breweries and pubs where you can easily strike up a conversation with other beer lovers.

Labe – healing water and wine

The good climate and the hilly to mountainous geography make the upper reaches of the Elbe a wine-growing region. Stop in and taste the grape varieties that are produced here. It’s worth accompanying the good wines with a nice meal on land, because like so many Eastern European countries, the Czech Republic also has a down-to-earth cuisine. Many restaurants along the waterways serve fresh fish from the river and other delicacies from the woods and fields.

The Vltava is also an excellent destination for anglers. The river is rich in various species of fish, including trout, perch and carp. The Vltava attracts numerous anglers who are in search of the impressive fish of this body of water. Fly fishing is also possible here.

CYCLING

In Prague and around the Vltava and Elbe rivers, there are also many opportunities to explore the city by bike. You can comfortably transport your bikes on our houseboats. This leaves you with enough energy to explore the thriving city life and mysterious castles.

If you don't bring your own bike, you can rent one right there at Marina Nelahozeves.
